I felt fine, good and happy until I watched the news, read the news or heard the news. I would rather feel fine, good and happy.
I would rather not watch, read or listen to the news, most of which is bad and causes
people to feel upset, angry, fearful, afraid, unhappy, sad, distraught, hateful, vengeful and any other adjective of bad or evil.
